It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Santo Andre. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Santo Andre 49-33 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SESI moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Santo Andre. Sao Jose at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. SESI will play against Salvador (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Sao Jose will play against the league's leader Campinas to get more than just one victory in their record.
Salvador can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Mesquita (2-3) 71-66 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of Tayna Reis who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Jayla Crawford responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds.
