The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Santo Andre (2-1) at the home court on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by Sampaio (3-0) 74-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Santo Andre. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Santo Andre 49-33 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international point guard Lays Da Silva (166-1998, agency: Interperformances) fired 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Aline Moura (185-1997) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Maisa Marcal contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Juliana Souza (185-1999) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for Sao Jose. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SESI moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Santo Andre. Sao Jose at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. SESI will play against Salvador (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Sao Jose will play against the league's leader Campinas to get more than just one victory in their record.
Salvador can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Mesquita (2-3) 71-66 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of Tayna Reis who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Jayla Crawford responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Mesquita's coach Raphael Zaremba rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Salvador (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Recife. Loser Mesquita keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Salvador will meet at home higher ranked SESI (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mesquita will play against Santo Andre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 4 winless Maringa lost to undefeated Campinas in a road game 56-85. Recife was beaten by Mesquita at home 64-74.

Campinas - Maringa 85-56

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Maringa (0-4) was crushed on the road by top-ranked Campinas (3-0) 85-56 on Wednesday. Campinas dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Maringa's 24. Campinas forced 31 Maringa turnovers and outrebounded them 45-26 including a 17-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Campinas looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Izabela Nicoletti (178-1999, college: Fairfield) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Yasmim Goncalves (174-1993) who added 9 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Campinas players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Thayna Sylvestre (181-2004) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard Anna Moreira (162-2004) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Maringa's coach Rafael Oliveira gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Campinas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-0 record, which they share with Sampaio. Loser Maringa still closes the standings with four games lost. Campinas will meet at home Sao Jose (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Maringa will play against Cerrado and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Clarke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side Silva Ster (-1999) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Gabriellem De Paula (190-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds.
