Jamaica - Mexico 78-73
Jamaica made a huge step forward to Semifinals after 78-73 win against Mexico in Day Two. It means that Jamaica has perfect 2-0 in Preliminary Group A and currently is No.1. At the same time, Mexico faced with the first loss and dropped to 1-1. Simone Edwards (193-C-73, college: Iowa) stepped up for the winners with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Nicole Louden (172-G-83, college: Auburn) followed her with 21 points, 5 boards and 7 assists. Vanessa Gidden (191-C-85, college: Hofstra) also had important role in this win adding 13 points and 10 boards. Erika Gomez (187-F/C-76) replied with 19 points and 11 rebounds on the other side. Alexis Castro (183-G/F-86, agency: 22ft, college: Vermont) had 17 pts and 7 boards. Jamaica did a great job in the first and third quarter. After opening ten minutes, Simone Edwards and her teammates were 20-14 up. However, Mexico replied in the second frame making a 36-38 turn (HT). Jamaica recovered playing a great third quarter. They finished it with 24-15 for decent 7-point lead before the lat ten minutes. Last period belonged to Mexico, but they needed a way more in order to avoid defeat in this game. In Day Three, Jamaica will meet Dominican Republic. Mexico will play against the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Dominican Republic - U.S. Virgin Islands 97-70
First win for Dominican Republic in Mayaguez. Both teams failed in Day One, but Dominican Republic jumped to 1-1 now, while the U.S. Virgin Islands dropped to 0-2. The ISV has no chance to reach the Semifinals at this event. Carmen Guzman (175-G-85, agency: Merit Sports, college: UAB) was totally the best player in victory. She spent 27 minutes on the court collecting 25 points and 5 rebounds. Guzman was the MVP of this meeting with valuation 24. Sugeiry Monsac (186-F/C-81) had 13 points and 5 boards, while Andreina Paniagua (78) and Jennifer Estrella (88) helped with 10 points each. In the loosing squad, Yanique Javois (176-G-86, college: Saint Louis) replied with 16 points. Victoria Hamilton (183-G-91) had 14 pts and 8 boards. Dominican Republic was slightly better in the first quarter making 22-19 lead. Carmen Guzman and her teammates exploded in the next ten minutes making a crucial lead. Dominican Republic scored 33 points in this period, while limiting the ISV to 17 for excellent 55-36 at the half time. The game winner was already known and last ten minutes were just the formality. Anyway, Dominican Republic ended Q3 with 21-19 and the last one with 21-15 for the final 97-70 blowout. In Day Three, Dominican Republic will meet Jamaica. Mexico will play against ISV.

Group B
Guatemala - Trinidad and Tobago 59-95
Trinidad and Tobago blasted Guatemala so both teams have 1-1 score in Group B. T&T faced with defeat against Puerto Rico in Day One, while Guatemala was better than Saint Vincent. Now, T&T has way better chance to reach the Semifinals. Sharmion Selman (183-F-83) and Rhea Codio (165-G-88) shined in victory with 20 points each. Selman pulled down 13 rebounds beside that, while Codio handed out 13 assists. Rhonda John-Davis (F/G-75) scored 16, while Jonee Billy (188-F/C-84, college: Mount Holyoke) added 14 pts and 10 rebs. In the loosing squad, Blanca Amado (180-G/F-79) top-scored with 15 points. Ligia Del Valle (171-G-87) had 12. Trinidad and Tobago was much better team in this game. Sharmion Selman and her teammates made 14-26 lead in the first ten minutes sending a clear signal who the winner of the match will be. They were better in Q2 as well for 33-48 HT lead. Nothing has changed after the breather. Trinidad and Tobago still dominated jumping to plus 18 before the last ten minutes. Than in the last quarter Guatemala gave up and Trinidad blasted them 8-26 for the final 59-95 victory. In Day Three, Trinidad and Tobago will meet winless Saint Vincent. Guatemala will take on strong Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico - Saint Vincent 130-32
Puerto Rico destroyed Saint Vincent for perfect 2-0 in Group B. It was an expected win for the strong Puerto Rico team, whose main goal is to take this championship. Saint Vincent on the other side already lost the chance to reach the Semifinals and they will probably end this stage winless. Michelle Pacheco (173-G-88) came up with 22 points and 8 assists in victory. She was the MVP of this game with valuation 31. Jazmine Sepulveda (175-G-85, agency: Merit Sports, college: S.Florida) had 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists, while Sandra Garcia (191-F-90) added 15 pts. In defeat, Sorayah Williams (84) shined with 17 points and 5 rebounds. The second scorer was Tenicha Gittens (163-G-81) with 8 points. What to say for this game. Puerto Rico simply was better in all basketball elements. Saint Vincent players were not able to resists against strong PUR and faced with huge 130-32 defeat. Quarters in this game: 37-9, 24-7, 39-8 and 30-8. In Day Three, Puerto Rico will meet Guatemala. Saint Martin will play against Trinidad and Tobago.
