Puerto Rico - Cuba 47-58
Cuba defended their title of Centrobasket. They overcame Puerto Rico 58:47 in the Final game and clinched the title. Both teams head to the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015. Cuba and Puerto Rico played in the Final of the last edition. Two years ago Cuba clinched 2012 Centrobasket title in Morovis. The Cubans overcame the hosts of the tournament 78:63 in the Final game. That victory was number 47 in row for Cuba team in Centrobasket. Tonight Cuba started with a 15-6 surge and led 9 points at the half-time. Moreover Cuba posted a 16-14 rally in the third period and sealed the victory. Yamara Amargo (179-PF-85) top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Ineidis Casanova (165-PG-88) netted 13. Clenia Noblet (190-C-87) delivered 12, whilst Gelis Oyanaisy had 7. Carla Cortijo (172-G-87, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Texas) poured in 21 points in a loss and Mari Placido (181-F-87, agency: Gamble Sports Management) chipped in 8.

U.S. Virgin Islands - Dominican Republic 55-61
Dominican Republic heads to the Pan American Games in Toronto in 2015 as they beat Virgin Islands in the game for the third place at the 2014 Centrobasket. Dominican Republic grabbed a 61:55 win for the bronze. Dominican Republic won the first period 16-11 and added a 12-9 run in the second frame. Virgin Islands dominated the third period and after a 20-15 rally reduced to 2 points entering the final period. Dominican Republic however finished the game with an 18-15 run to seal the victory. Sugeiry Monsac (186-F/C-81) stepped up with 11 points for the winners and Danilsa Andujar (188-C) netted 10. Santos Melissa scored 9, whilst Guzman Carmen netted 8. Tanecka Carey (175-G-91) netted 18 points in a loss and Natalie Day (182-G/F-90, college: Portland) collected 16 points and 13 rebounds.
5-6 Place
Mexico - Jamaica 63-49
Mexico clinch 5th place at 2014 Centrobasket. The home side overcame Jamaica 63:49 in their last game. Both teams scored 12 points each in the first period and then Mexico gabbed 3-point lead at the half-time after a 14-11 rally in the second frame. Again Mexico and Jamaica netted 13 points each in the third period that remained the difference after three quarters. Mexico erupted with a 24-13 surge in the last stanza to clinch the win. Jazmin Valenzuela (187-C) led the way with 15 points, while Sandra Sanchez (175-PF-90) and Myriam Lara (186-F-94) notched 12 each. Shereesha Richards (185-F-93) collected 19 points and 12 rebounds in a loss and Smith Shenneika poured in 16.

El Salvador - Costa Rica 44-33
El Salvador beat Costa Rica in the defensive style of the Centrobasket 2014. El Salvador escaped the last spot and finished 7th after a 44:33 victory. El Salvador opened the game with a 15-11 rally and led 3 points after 20 minutes of the game. Moreover they won the third quarter 12-6 and increased to 9 points after three periods. El Salvator managed to post 9-7 in the last stanza for the final result. Monica Escobar (178-F-94) top-scored for the winners with 15 points and 15 rebounds, while Hillary Martinez (172-SF-97) notched 14. Monica Calderon (175-SF-91) delivered 13 points in a win. Ana Matamoros (190-C-95) answered with 13 points in defeat and Betancourt Silvia brought 5.
