US Virgin Islands finish second, while Dominican Republic earn third place in San Salvador

Costa Rica - Dominican Republic 63-68
Dominican Republic clinched the third position in Centrobasket tournament. They edged Costa Rica to step onto the pedestal. Yohanna Morton (172-G-87, college: RMU) provided 22 points to lead the winners. Dominican Republic accounted for a 39-27 halftime lead. Costa Rica narrowed the gap in the fourth period but could not avoid the loss. Elemy Colome (173-G-96) had 15 points in the win. Natalia Galvez (170-G-84) answered with 17 points for Costa Rica.

El Salvador - U.S. Virgin Islands 68-80
US Virgin Islands earned the second place in the Centrobasket tournament. They finished the campaign with a comfortable rout of El Salvador. US Virgin Islands went on a 21-10 run in the second period to take an 11-point lead. US Virgin Islands held the hosts to just 13 points in the fourth frame and raced to the win. Anisha George (188-C-98, college: N.Texas) produced 22 points and 14 rebounds for US Virgin Islands. Imani Tate (175-G-95, college: Albany) had 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Emily Tevez (178-SG-93, college: NDN) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts.
