El Salvador grabbed the Semifinal ticket of the Centrobasket 2024 with the win over Cuba 70-67. They finished second in Group A with a 2-1 record. Cuba meanwhile dropped at 1-2 record.
Trailing 14-29 at the end of the first quarter, El Salvador managed to win the rest of the quarters for the total success. Hillary Martínez top-scored for the winners with 24 points and Destiny Campbell (185-F/C-1996, college: ECU) had 22. Maria Montero (176-G/F-1998) answered with 18 points in a loss, whilst Nahomis Vargas-Hardy (188-C-2003) and Anisleidys Galindo (181-SG-1989) had 14 each.
