Los Leonas earn Liga Feminina title - Jul 11, 2014

Los Leonas celebrated the Liga Feminina title. They overcame New Crusaders for the title. It was the second trophy for Los Leonas in just the third edition of Liga Feminina tournament. Carmen Tyson-Thomas (175-G-91, agency: Two Points, college: Syracuse) stepped up with impressive 38 points and 12 rebounds to pace the winners.
Los Leonas grabbed a 22:18 lead after ten minutes. But New Crusaders pulled within three points at the interval 43:40. Los Leonas used a 24:14 run in the third term to clear off. They held New Crusaders to just 15 points in the final stanza and sealed the victory. Ziomara Morrison (193-C-89, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 12 points and collected 13 boards for the winners. Javiera Novion (168-G-87, college: Eckerd) answered with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for New Crusaders. Javiera Morales (176-G-92) had 18 points and 9 boards in the defeat.
Puerto Montt clinched Bronze medals as they rallied past Deportes Castro 83:59 in the consolation final. Fernanda Mansilla (168-PG-92) had 22 points for the winners.
