LNB 2 Round 10: Liceo PN lose to Espanol O.

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Temuco between second ranked Liceo PN (8-2) and fourth ranked Espanol O. (7-2) on Saturday night. Liceo PN was defeated by Espanol O. in a tough game at home 84-90. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Liceo PN. Espanol O. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian center Franco Barroso (207-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. International Sebastian Suarez (193-1991, college: Portland St.) contributed with 26 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) replied with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds for Liceo PN. Espanol O. have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 7-2 record. Liceo PN at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Espanol O. are looking forward to face Liceo Curico (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Liceo PN will play against Truenos (#6) in Talca and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Municipal C. is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their tenth consecutive match to thirteenth ranked Tomas L. (3-7) 81-43. Argentinian center Leonel Rodriguez (205-1993) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Bastian Zuleta chipped in 16 points during the contest. At the losing side Brazilian Vinicius Ruiz (-1998) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tomas L. maintains thirteenth position with 3-7 record. Municipal C. at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Tomas L. will play against higher ranked Osorno (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Municipal C. will play against Aleman (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

In the last game of round 10 Arabe de Valp. was beaten by Manquehue on the road 75-58.



Manquehue - Arabe de Valp. 75-58

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Manquehue (7-1) beat 7th ranked Arabe de Valp. (5-5) in Santiago 75-58. Manquehue players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Arabe de Valp.'s players. Forward Juan Peters (-1993) had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Fernando Schuler (190-1991) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side center Carlos Ahuile (193-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and Brazilian Pedro Soares (200-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Manquehue moved-up to third place. Arabe de Valp. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Manquehue's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Sergio Ceppi.
