LNF Round 6: Alemana P. climb to the leadership position

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Alemana P. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Alemana P. smashed bottom-ranked Larr Valdivia in Paillaco 80-46. Alemana P. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Larr Valdivia's 32. Alemana P. forced 27 Larr Valdivia turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Larr Valdivia's players. The former international center Tatiana Gomez (192-1981) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Anahi Moran (168-1996) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Rocio Ortiz (-2002) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alemana P. have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Univ.Concepcion and Frontera. Larr Valdivia at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Undefeated Gimnastico (2-1) recorded its first loss in Vina del Mar. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Sportiva Ita. (2-1) 83-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gimnastico. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The former international forward Catalina Perez (195-1997) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Thiare Garcia supported her with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Sportiva Ita.'s coach Gianluca Pozo used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Italian-Argentinian Daniela Dublo (184-1988) did not help to save the game for Gimnastico. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Gimnastico and Puerto Montt. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Quite upsetting was Llolleo's (#5) home defeat in a game versus sixth ranked Quilpue 75-65. The best player for the winners was Jessica Zarate who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Valeria Aguilera who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Quilpue (1-2) left bottom position moving up to fifth place. It was Llolleo's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Truenos. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 6: CDSC destroyed Tomas L on the opponent's court 94-62. Univ.de Chile was outscored by Puente Alto in a home game 38-80. Winless Rancagua was rolled over Brisas on the road 83-42. Winless Luis ML lost to undefeated Sergio Ceppi on its own court 24-88. Winless Laja lost to undefeated Frontera in Temuco 25-129. Infinito destroyed Temuco at home 76-47. Osorno unfortunately lost to Espanol on the opponent's court 52-60. Espanol lost to undefeated Alemana P. in a home game 80-104. Leones crushed New Crusaders on the road 81-56. Winless Truenos lost to undefeated Univ.Concepcion on its own court 54-71.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points and 11 rebounds by Jazmin Sepulveda of Truenos.
