The round was exceptionally exciting as four games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Ancud (10-2) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Puente Alto (2-7) 82-75. The former international guard Marcelo Perez (196-1999, college: Southern Miss) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Ricardo Montes (-1999) chipped in 17 points. Puente Alto's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-1988, college: FSU) with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Puente Alto maintains thirteenth place with 2-7 record. Ancud at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost.

The former international Carlos Lauler (190-1996) came up with 21 points and 4 assists for Espanol in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Los Leones maintains second place with 8-1 record having five points less than leader Ancud. Espanol at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Valdivia. 4th placed host Las Animas (6-5) were smashed by second ranked Los Leones (8-1) 102-83. The best player for the winners was Alani Moore II who scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Rakim Brown who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Los Leones maintains second place with 8-1 record having five points less than leader Ancud. Loser Las Animas dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Puerto Varas.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 9: Catolica lost to Las Animas on the opponent's court 70-79. Concepcion outscored Liceo PN in a home game 87-67. Valdivia recorded a loss to Espanol on the road 94-92. Puerto Montt was defeated by Puerto Varas on its own court 70-87. Sportiva Italiana beat Castro in Valparaiso 78-76. Espanol destroyed Catolica at home 80-48. Puente Alto unfortunately lost to Castro on the opponent's court 70-74. Concepcion managed to beat Valdivia in a home game 99-89. Sportiva Italiana was defeated by Ancud on the road 80-76. Espanol was beaten by Liceo PN on its own court 74-77.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 21 points and 14 rebounds by Domonta Wright of Liceo PN.



Las Animas - Catolica 79-70

Very expected game in Valdivia where 12th ranked Catolica (2-8) was defeated by fourth ranked Las Animas (6-5) 79-70 on Friday. Las Animas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. American Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Colombian Alvaro Pena (197-1995, agency: Starting 5) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Vicente Damianovic (-1997) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Four Catolica players scored in double figures. Catolica's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Las Animas went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Puerto Varas. Loser Catolica dropped to the bottom place with eight games lost.

Los Leones outrebounded Espanol 43-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Los Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American forward Xavier Hill-Mais (202-1996, college: Oakland) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Jerry Evans (203-1990, college: Nevada) accounted for 20 points and 8 rebounds. Very predictable result when sixth ranked Concepcion (6-2) smashed at home 12th ranked Liceo PN (3-6) 87-67 on Saturday. Concepcion made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Sebastian Carrasco (180-2000) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American center Roquez Johnson (201-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) chipped in 21 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was Brazilian center Gabriel Mendes (206-1996) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American power forward Domonta Wright (202-1999, college: Cleveland St.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Five Concepcion and four Liceo PN players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Concepcion have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Loser Liceo PN dropped to the tenth position with six games lost.

There was an upset in Talca where higher ranked Valdivia (5-5) was edged by eleventh ranked Espanol (2-6) 94-92 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American-Jamaican forward D.J. Foreman (203-1994, college: St.Louis) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Ivan Bravo (-2000) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Dwayne Russell (203-1998, college: St.Thomas, FL) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and Argentinian Juan Manuel Rivero (191-1985) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively.
