The best player for the winners was the former international Sebastian Suarez (193-1991, college: Portland St.) who scored 27 points. Colombian point guard Juan Cardenas (201-1997, college: Bryant) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Roquez Johnson (201-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) who recorded 15 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Espanol maintains fourth position with 21-10 record. Defending champion Los Leones still keep top place with four games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Valparaiso. Fifth ranked Sportiva Italiana (19-13) saved a 3-point victory at home edging second-best Univ.Concepcion (25-6) 95-92 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for Gaspar Hernandez (-1999) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Manny Payton contributed with 23 points for the winners. Eighth-ranked Puente Alto (14-18) made lots of trouble for third ranked Puerto Varas (22-10) on Saturday. Puerto Varas managed to secure only three-point victory 91-88. However their fans expected much easier game. Joshua Morris had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners.
