Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.
The most interesting game of round 6 in the LNF was a home defeat of 4th ranked Espanol (1-3) by second ranked Alemana (2-2) who outscored them by 24 points 74-50. Alemana dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Espanol's 24. They outrebounded Espanol 54-28 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international center Tatiana Gomez (192-1981) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Mariah Miller (182-1998, college: CSU) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Argentinian swingman Sofia Paoli (178-1996, agency: Daggers Sports) with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alemana maintains second position with 2-2 record having six points less than leader Univ.Concepcion, which they share with Puerto Montt. Espanol at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Alemana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Espanol will play at home against Puerto Montt (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Santiago: Sergio Ceppi (#5) and Brisas (#6). Brisas were smashed at home by 29 points 47-76 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The former international forward Romina Valenzuela (178-1986) notched 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Paula Moya supported her with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Even 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Estela Nahuel (-2006) did not help to save the game for Brisas. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sergio Ceppi (2-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Gimnastico. Brisas at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Sergio Ceppi will play against higher ranked Los Leones (#3) in San Pablo in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Brisas will play on the road against Gimnastico in Vina del Mar and hope to get finally their first victory.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Valparaiso. Top-ranked host Sportiva Ita. (6-0) smashed 4th ranked Gimnastico (2-4) 105-49. Sportiva Ita.'s coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Tatiana Moyano who recorded 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Undefeated Sportiva Ita. have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Loser Gimnastico keeps the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with Sergio Ceppi. Sportiva Ita. will meet league's second-placed Puente Alto in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gimnastico will play against Brisas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
