There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LNB2. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in Valparaiso between third ranked Arabe de Valp. (4-4) and fifth ranked Quilpue (4-4) on Saturday night. Arabe de Valp. was defeated by Quilpue at home 54-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Arabe de Valp.. Strangely Arabe de Valp. outrebounded Quilpue 50-33 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Harwin Perez (-2001) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Maximiliano Lopez (-2003) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian Estanislao Crespi replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for Arabe de Valp.Quilpue moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Arabe de Valp.. Quilpue is looking forward to face league's leader Sportiva Italiana in Valparaiso in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Arabe de Valp. will play against the league's second-placed Illaplel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Truenos (4-4) against fifth ranked Liceo Curico (3-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Truenos were defeated by Liceo Curico in Curico 73-61. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sebastian Riquelme (188-1995) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds and Rodrigo Botta who added 18 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Rafael Portuondo responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Liceo Curico moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Omega. Truenos at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Liceo Curico will play against league's leader Aleman in Puerto Varas in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Truenos will play against the league's second-placed Constitucion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hrvatski Sokol (5-3) against fourth ranked San Luis (4-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Hrvatski Sokol was defeated by San Luis in Quillota 81-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hrvatski Sokol. The winners were led by Joao De Oliveira who scored that evening 27 points. San Luis' coach Patricio Miranda used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by Gonzalo Silva did not help to save the game for Hrvatski Sokol. San Luis moved-up to second place, which they share with 6 other teams. Loser Hrvatski Sokol keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Illaplel. San Luis will meet at home league's leader Sergio Ceppi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hrvatski Sokol will play against Arturo Prat and hope to secure a win.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 8: winless Municipal C. was smashed by Alemana on the road 110-61. The Sharks lost to Sportiva Italiana on its own court 72-77. Aleman managed to outperform Constitucion in Puerto Varas 82-66. Stadio Italiano rolled over Arturo Prat at home 81-61. Humboldt was crushed by Illaplel on the opponent's court 67-46. Omega was beaten by Escolar Ale. in a home game 67-72. La Union was destroyed by Temuco on the road 102-77. Sergio Ceppi managed to outperform Luis Matte on its own court 79-74.
The most impressive performance of 8th round was 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by Cristian Urrutia of Luis Matte.



Alemana - Municipal C. 110-61

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Alemana's (3-2) home victory over bottom-ranked Municipal C. (0-8) 110-61 on Saturday. Alemana dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Municipal C.'s 24. They outrebounded Municipal C. 54-32 including a 39-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Alemana looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by Argentinian guard Valentino Ayala (190-2005) who scored that evening 35 points (!!!) and 7 assists and American forward Kaleb Vaughn (198-1996, college: Lake Erie) supported him with 19 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Even 15 points and 5 assists by forward Javier Munoz (-1995) did not help to save the game for Municipal C.. Juan Mosqueira added 11 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alemana moved-up to fourth place. Loser Municipal C. still closes the standings with eight games lost. Alemana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Municipal C. will play against the league's leader Aleman (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
