Caimanes (5-1) recorded its first loss in Cucuta on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Motilones (3-5) 98-89. Motilones looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American Rashon Johnson (197-1999, college: Shippensburg) who scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import center Sal Nuhu (203-1995, college: Portland St.) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian guard Alejo Britos (187-1994) who recorded 23 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Motilones went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Carrib.Storm. Newly promoted Caimanes still keep top place with one game lost.

Desmond Holloway contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Sal Nuhu (203-1995, college: Portland St.) replied with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for Motilones. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Caimanes maintains first position with 5-1 record. Defending champion Motilones dropped to the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Carrib.Storm.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Storm (3-5) against fourth ranked Piratas (3-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Storm was defeated by Piratas in Bogota 84-68. Justin Quintero scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Emmitt Williams with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Piratas moved-up to second place. Carrib.Storm at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Motilones.

Rest of the games of round 6 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Sabios were defeated by Toros Del Valle in Cali 77-70. Piratas beat Carrib.Storm at home 98-87. Sabios were destroyed by Cimarrones on the opponent's court 110-73.
The best stats of 6th round was 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by Corey Sanders of Cimarrones.

There was a minor upset in Cali where their close opponent Sabios (4-5) were defeated by third ranked Toros (4-4) 77-70 on Friday. Toros Del Valle made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. American power forward Eden Ewing (204-1997, college: Texas Southern) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Brazilian center Dikembe Andre (206-1999) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. Toros' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American guard Kareem Clark (190, college: Humboldt St.) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Ghanian forward Kobby Ayetey (203-1997, college: Bowie St.) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Toros Del Valle moved-up to second place. Sabios lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with five games lost.

Guard Darwin Blanco (188-2003) scored 22 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Felipe Soler (-1998) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Piratas players scored in double figures. Piratas' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American forward Emmitt Williams (198-1998, college: LSU) with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds and the former international Soren De Luque (200-1998) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Piratas moved-up to second place. Loser Storm dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Motilones.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Quibdo-Choco where one of their biggest challengers Sabios (4-5) were rolled over by fourth ranked Cimarrones (3-6) 110-73 on Sunday. Cimarrones made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Cimarrones had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Delano Spencer (193-1994, college: Tennessee St.) scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Corey Sanders (188-1997, college: Rutgers) chipped in 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Walyn Napper (185-2000, college: Longwood) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Greg Heckstall (202-1996, college: Hampton) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds.
