The Regular Season in LBP just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game of round 5 in the LBP took place in Quibdo-Choco. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Caimanes (3-3) to seventh ranked Cimarrones (1-7) 74-72 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Caimanes. Dominican swingman Juan De Los Santos (193-2002) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Dominican Bernardo Polanco (189-1994) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Venezuelan forward Luis Bethelmy (200-1986) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for Caimanes. Caimanes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cimarrones maintains seventh place with 1-7 record. Caimanes at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with Sabios and Paisas.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Storm (4-3) against sixth ranked Motilones (2-3) on Sunday night. Host Storm was defeated by Motilones in a tough game in San Andres Island 85-92. stepped up and scored 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Franco Morales chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Michael Jackson (198-1987) responded with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Storm's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Motilones maintains sixth place with 2-3 record. An interesting game for Toros (7-1) which hosted in Cali 3rd placed Paisas (3-3). First ranked Toros managed to get a 5-point victory 83-78. Terry Armstrong nailed 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Toros' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Ty-Shon Alexander came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds for Paisas in the defeat. Toros have a solid series of three victories in a row. Toros Del Valle maintains first place with 7-1 record. Paisas lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with Sabios and Caimanes.
In the last two games of round 5 Caimanes smashed Cimarrones on the road 79-46. Toros Del Valle won against Paisas on its own court 92-80.
The most impressive performance of 5th round was 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists by Yeison Colome of Motilones.
