Dominica briefly grabbed a two-point edge late in the first quarter at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on July 9, 2026, but Turks and Caicos answered almost immediately a Dwaine Simmons (201-C-1995) layup tied it, and Jessy Maximin (211-C-2000) turned a takeaway into the go-ahead basket less than a minute later. From there Turks and Caicos never trailed again, building the lead to double digits by halftime and eventually cruising to an 81-64 win in Group A action of the FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Caribbean Pre-Qualifiers.
Ethan Taylor (196-PG -2008) was again the primary engine, finishing with 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals on efficient shooting. Dylan Morris (193-PF -2007) provided a spark off the bench with 10 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Travante Garland (183-PG-2003) added 10 points and four assists without a single turnover. Maximin controlled the glass with a team-high nine rebounds to go with three steals and two blocks. Dominica's Ethan Boland (196-F-1996) was outstanding in defeat, posting a game-high 22 points and 14 rebounds, but he had little help as an 11-0 Turks and Caicos run late in the fourth quarter put the game out of reach for good. |
