Grenada looked to be in complete control early, building a 15-point lead midway through the second quarter at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on July 11, 2026. Then Kyrone Alexander (196-G-2003, college: Boston U.) happened. Barbados erased the deficit in a matter of minutes, and once Rasheed Maynard (185-F-2000)'s fast-break layup gave them the lead for good, the flood gates opened a stretch that saw Barbados outscore Grenada 26-3 spanning the second and third quarters turned a tight game into a rout, eventually finishing 99-77.
Alexander was simply unstoppable, scoring 32 points in barely 25 minutes on 12-of-19 shooting, punctuated by an 11-point burst in a span of just 16 seconds that flipped the game entirely. Carl Thorpe (201-F -2001, college: York, NE) added 15 points, Maynard chipped in 14 on 7-of-10 shooting without a single turnover, and Kemar Benn (203-C-2001, college: Baton Rouge) contributed 10 points and eight rebounds. Daniel Regis (201-C-1996, college: Nicholls) was excellent for Grenada in defeat with 26 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, but it marked a third straight loss for Grenada in this window, following earlier defeats to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Haiti. |
