AmeriCup 2022: Canada become the first semifinalists

Canada became the first semifinalists at the AmeriCup 2022. They overcame Mexico 82-77 in the first Quarterfinal game. Mexico opened the game with a 19-17 run, whilst Canada tied it all at 30-30 when Yahir Bonilla sent the teams to the lockers. Canada took a narrow lead at the end of the third period after a 24-22 rally and then closed the game with a final 28-25 run.
Dalano Banton (201-F-1999, college: Nebraska) top-scored for thew winners with 16 points and Jahvon Henry-Blair (193-G-1998, college: Georgetown) nailed 14. Lloyd Pandi (193-F-1999, college: Carleton) dlivered 11, whilst Trae Bell-Haynes (188-G-1995, college: Vermont, agency: BeoBasket) scored 10. Daniel Amigo (208-C-1995, college: Denver) replied with 20 points in a loss and Gabriel Giron (192-SG-1988) produced 19.
