Paraguay overcame Barbados 80-70 in AmeriCup FIBA 2025 Qualifiers opener. They trailed 15-16 at the end of the first period, whilst took control with a 21-12 in the second. Paraguay needed a final 25-12 surge in the last stanza to seal the win.
Rodney Mercado (191-SF-1999) erupted with 33 points for the winners and Juan Poisson (198-C-1998) netted 17. Kyrone Alexander (192-SF-2003) replied with 20 points in the losing effort, whilst Keefe Birkett (183-G-1988)t poured in 17.
