The biggest surprise of round 8 in Liga Metropolitan was guest Villa Nueva's (3-4) easy road victory over 5th ranked Dark Knights (2-5) 65-41 on Tuesday evening. Villa Nueva outrebounded Dark Knights 54-28 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international Ronal Campos (-1987) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds. Enrique Samayoa (193-1982) chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Juan Martinez (-2001) produced 18 points for the hosts. Villa Nueva moved-up to fifth place. Dark Knights at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Villa Nueva are looking forward to face league's second-placed Azucareros in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dark Knights will play against Coeindeguasa (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Henry Alay replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds for Coeindeguasa. Forza moved-up to third place. Coeindeguasa lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Forza will play against league's leader Halcones in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Coeindeguasa will play against Dark Knights (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Walter Gasparico (-1989) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Kevin Alvarez (185-1995, college: Coast Guard) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Henry Alay replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Norman Hernandez added 12 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Coeindeguasa. Four Coeindeguasa players scored in double figures. Forza moved-up to third place. Coeindeguasa lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost.
