LNBP Round 3: Soles beat Mineros by two after a very close game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 3 in the LNBP took place in Mexicali. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Mineros (3-2) to Soles (3-2) 90-88 in the game for the third place. Soles forced 23 Mineros turnovers. It was a good game for international point guard Moises Andriassi (185-2000) who led his team to a victory with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American Daniel Laster (199-1996, college: Gardner-Webb) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (203-1989) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds for Mineros. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Soles is looking forward to face Libertadores (#4) in Queretaro in the next round. Mineros will play at home against Dorados and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Dorados (5-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat Correcaminos (0-5) in Ciudad Victoria 99-94. It was a great evening for Argentinian point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. Donald Sims helped adding 27 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) with 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dorados will play against Mineros (#5) in Zacatecas in the next round. Correcaminos will play on the road against Fuerza Regia (#2) in Monterrey and hope to get finally their first victory.
The game in Guadalajara was also quite interesting. Fuerza Regia (4-1) played at the court of Astros (2-3). Fuerza Regia managed to secure a 5-point victory 71-66 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Aaron Fuller who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Fuerza Regia's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Brooks DeBisschop came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for Astros in the defeat. Fuerza Regia will meet at home Correcaminos (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Astros will play against Abejas in Guanajuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 3: Abejas beat Halc.Xalapa on the road 81-79. Bottom-ranked Halc.Xalapa won against Abejas on its own court 91-89. Plateros unfortunately lost to Libertadores in Queretaro 89-98.
The most impressive performance of 3rd round was 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds by Jordan Adams of Libertadores.

Correcaminos - Dorados 94-99

Dorados (5-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat Correcaminos (0-5) in Ciudad Victoria 99-94. Dorados shot 63.6 percent from the field and made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Argentinian point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 27 points and 4 assists. Four Dorados players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) with 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists and Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) scored 28 points and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dorados will play against Mineros (#5) in Zacatecas in the next round. Correcaminos will play on the road against Fuerza Regia (#2) in Monterrey and hope to get finally their first victory.

No shocking result in a game when Abejas (3-3) edged on the road Halcones UV Xalapa (1-5) 81-79 on Friday. Abejas looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Tyrone White (201-1990, college: CSUB) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. Forward Germain Jordan (198-1986, college: Dillard) came up with 25 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for Halcones UV Xalapa in the defeat. Abejas will meet at home Astros (#7) in the next round. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Plateros in Fresnillo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American forward Aaron Fuller (198-1989, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Rodney Green (197-1988, college: La Salle) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Fuerza Regia's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Brooks DeBisschop (206-1998, college: NAU) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (190-1992) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively for Astros in the defeat. Fuerza Regia will meet at home Correcaminos (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Astros will play against Abejas in Guanajuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There was an upset when Abejas (3-3) were edged on the road by Halcones UV Xalapa (1-5) 91-89 on Saturday. Halcones UV Xalapa made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Avry Holmes (185-1994, college: Clemson) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) accounted for 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) came up with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Tyrone White (201-1990, college: CSUB) added 20 points respectively for Abejas in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Abejas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Libertadores used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Fresnillo 98-89 on Saturday night. Libertadores made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Spencer Williams (188-1995, college: Wooster) accounted for 22 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Nicaraguan-Puerto Rican guard Jared Ruiz (188-1992) came up with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Puerto Rican Christopher Ortiz (203-1993, college: Kent St.) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Plateros in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Plateros' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Libertadores will meet Soles (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Plateros will play against Halcones UV Xalapa (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
