LNBP Round 3: Soles beat Mineros by two after a very close game- August 7, 2022

Correcaminos - Dorados 94-99 Dorados (5-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat Correcaminos (0-5) in Ciudad Victoria 99-94. Dorados shot 63.6 percent from the field and made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Argentinian point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 27 points and 4 assists. Four Dorados players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Swiss point guard Jordan Stevens (182-1994, college: Midwestern St.) with 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists and Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) scored 28 points and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dorados will play against Mineros (#5) in Zacatecas in the next round. Correcaminos will play on the road against Fuerza Regia (#2) in Monterrey and hope to get finally their first victory. It was an exceptional evening for guard Tyrone White (201-1990, college: CSUB) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Wayne Langston (200-1993, college: Murray St.) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Abejas players scored in double figures. Forward Germain Jordan (198-1986, college: Dillard) came up with 25 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for Halcones UV Xalapa in the defeat. Abejas will meet at home Astros (#7) in the next round. Halcones UV Xalapa will play against Plateros in Fresnillo and it may be a tough game between close rivals. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Mineros (3-2) to Soles (3-2) 90-88 in the game for the third place. Soles forced 23 Mineros turnovers. It was a good game for international point guard Moises Andriassi (185-2000) who led his team to a victory with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American Daniel Laster (199-1996, college: Gardner-Webb) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Panamanian Ernesto Oglivie (203-1989) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized American Durrell Summers (196-1989, college: Michigan St.) added 19 points in the effort for Mineros. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American forward Aaron Fuller (198-1989, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Rodney Green (197-1988, college: La Salle) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Fuerza Regia's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Brooks DeBisschop (206-1998, college: NAU) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Dominican Rigoberto Mendoza (190-1992) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively for Astros in the defeat. Fuerza Regia will meet at home Correcaminos (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Astros will play against Abejas in Guanajuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
