Top ranked Libertadores (6-2) recorded its second loss in Queretaro on Thursday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Abejas (5-3) 83-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Libertadores. The game was dominated by American players. Markeith Cummings (198-1988, college: KSU) fired 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. point guard Tyreek Duren (183-1991, college: La Salle) chipped in 14 points. Power forward Skylar Spencer (206-1994, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) produced 6 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Abejas have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Abejas went down to fourth position due to points difference. Libertadores at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. They share the position with Halc.Xalapa. Another exciting game was played in Veracruz between fourth ranked Dorados and 6th ranked Halcones Rojos where Dorados (4-4) beat Halcones Rojos (3-5) on the road with 17-point difference 71-54. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Cleveland Thomas (192-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Thomas Allen contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Dorados' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Halcones Rojos. Dorados maintains fourth position with 4-4 record. Halcones Rojos at the other side dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Mineros and Plateros. Dorados will play against Soles (#6) in Mexicali in the next round. Halcones Rojos will play on the road against Freseras in Irapuato and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in San Luis Potosi between Panteras and Santos. Third ranked Panteras (4-3) got a very close victory on the road over their biggest opponent Santos (4-3). Panteras managed to escape with a 3-point win 81-78 in the fight for the second place. Worth to mention a great performance of Christian Negron who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Tjader Fernandez responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Panteras have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Santos. Panteras will meet at home league's leader Astros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Correcaminos - Halc.Xalapa 93-104

There was no surprise in Ciudad Victoria where 7th ranked Correcaminos (1-7) were defeated by fourth ranked Halcones UV Xalapa (6-2) 104-93 on Thursday. Halcones UV Xalapa dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Correcaminos' 40 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Correcaminos 36-24 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Shaquille Johnson (191-1990, college: Marshall) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Justin Keenan (202-1989, college: Ferris St.) who added 22 points during the contest.
