The Regular Season in CIBACOPA is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 21 in the CIBACOPA took place in Los Mochis. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (11-18) to fifth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (14-15) 92-89 on Tuesday evening. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Zach Walton (198-1997, college: Drexel, agency: Players Group) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Jared Wilson-Frame (196-1996, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Khalil Iverson (196-1997, college: Wisconsin) who recorded 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Pioneros Los Mochis have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 14-15 record, which they share with Guaymas. Defending champion Hermosillo dropped to the ninth position with 18 games lost. Los Mochis is looking forward to face higher ranked Culiacan (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hermosillo will play against Mazatlan (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ciudad de Mexico. First ranked Angeles faced 4th placed Caballeros de Culiacan. Host Angeles (22-8) defeated guests from Culiacan (16-13) 111-103. Angeles forced 20 Culiacan turnovers and had a 25-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Angeles players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Astros outrebounded Frayles 41-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Astros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Frayles' players. American point guard Armani Chaney (178-1997, college: Tennessee St.) stepped up and scored 16 points and 4 steals for the winners and his fellow American import guard Tray Maddox Jr (193-2000, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Chaney is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American Anthony Peacock (206-1999, college: MWSU) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Tyrone Jones (193) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Astros and four Frayles players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
