Atletico Nacional - Centinelas 84-75 There was no surprise in Panama City where 5th ranked Centinelas (7-8) were defeated by first ranked Atletico (12-3) 84-75 on Tuesday. Atletico looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Jonathan King (193-1990, college: ACU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and naturalized American Adalberto Rojas (200-1986) chipped in 25 points. Four Atletico players scored in double figures. Atletico's coach used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Lucas Chavez (187-1995) with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Serbian power forward Milos Petkovic (204-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Carlos Rodriguez stepped up and scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and swingman Jose Montenegro (191-1998) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. They outrebounded Atletico 45-25 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Lucas Chavez (187-1995) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. American Antonio Austin (196-1991, college: SDCC) contributed with 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Austin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Centinelas players scored in double figures.
