Mitchell number one in Puerto Rico BSNF for week 3

American Guard Chelsea Mitchell (175-G-1997, agency: LBM Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for top-ranked Montaneras de Morovis, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 3.
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (24 points, eight rebounds and five assists) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out San German (#6, 1-2) 82-79. It allowed Montaneras to consolidate first place in the Puerto Rican BSNF. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Morovis already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Mitchell had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Montaneras' top player in her first season with the team. Former Morgan State University star has very solid stats this year. Mitchell is in league's top in points (8th best: 19.7ppg) and averages impressive 3.3spg and 41.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last week's games was young international forward India Pagan (185-F-1999) of Atenienses de Manati. Pagan had a very good evening with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Atenienses was edged by Carolina (1-2) 86-82. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next week. Pagan is a newcomer at Manati, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last week was American forward Alexis Jennings (190-F-1996) of Explosivos de Moca (#9). Jennings scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Jennings' great performance the Moca lost 77-78 to Santurce (#2, 2-0). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Jennings has individually a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.5ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 12.0rpg (3rd best).

9. Asia Taylor (188-F-1991) of Moca - 15 points, 18 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Naomi Hernandez) of Hatillo - 14 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
