BSNF Round 6 (Regular Season): Morovis are upset by Carolina

Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most important game in the last round took place in Morovis between third ranked Montaneras (5-3) and fourth ranked Gigantes (3-2) on Wednesday night. Montaneras were defeated by Gigantes at home 75-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Montaneras. Carolina outrebounded Morovis 51-30 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Carolina looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Teana Muldrow (188-1995, college: WVU) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Selena Lott (180-1999, college: Marquette) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Pamela Rosado (165-1986) who recorded 21 points and 6 assists. Montaneras' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gigantes have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 3-2 record. Morovis at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. Carolina are looking forward to face Moca (#6) at home in the next round. Morovis will play against Hatillo and are hoping to win this game.
Leader Atenienses delivered the fifth victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Athleticas (2-4) 103-87 in Manati. It was a good game for American forward DreUna Edwards (183, college: Baylor) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds. India Pagan contributed with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American guard Daisha Bradford (173-2000, college: ULM) replied with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for San German. Athleticas' coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Atenienses have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Manati went down to second position due to points difference. Newly promoted San German dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with Moca. Manati will play against league's leader Santurce at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San German will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 6 Hatillo was defeated by Lares in a road game 93-85.

Lares - Hatillo 93-85

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Hatillo (1-5) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Lares (2-5) 93-85. Lares made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Lares especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was a good game for American guard Juicy Landrum (173-1997, college: Baylor) who led her team to a victory with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized American guard Ariel Colon (178, college: FIU) contributed with 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Lares players scored in double figures. Lares' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Adrienne Williams (180-1991, college: Illinois) replied with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import center Ionna McKenzie (188-1996, college: Texas Tech) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hatillo. Despite that victory Lares went down to eighth position due to points difference. Hatillo lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with five games lost. Lares will play against higher ranked Isabela (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hatillo will play against Morovis (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
