Kamaria McDaniel gets MVP of the Week award for Puerto Rican BSNF

American Kamaria McDaniel (178-G-1999) had an amazing evening in the last week for league's leader Cangrejeras de Santurce and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 11.
The 25-year old guard had the game-high 21 points adding four rebounds for Santurce in her team's victory, helping them to edge out San German (#8, 3-7) 67-65. It allowed Cangrejeras to consolidate first place in the Puerto Rican BSNF. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Santurce still have not lost a single game, getting all 9 victories. In the team's last game McDaniel had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be Cangrejeras's top player in her first season with the team. Kamaria McDaniel averages this season 15.4ppg and 4.7apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was young American forward Akilah Bethel (183-F-1993) of Athleticas de San German. Bethel impressed basketball fans with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Athleticas was edged by league's leader Santurce (#1, 9-0) 67-65. This loss caused San German to drop to 8th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-7 record. Bethel is a newcomer at San German and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last week was American Ariel Colon (178-G) of Patriotas de Lares (#6). Colon scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was a key player of Lares, leading her team to a 78-73 win against slightly higher-ranked Carolina (#4, 5-4). The chances of Lares ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Colon could help Lares to bring them higher in the standings. Colon has a very solid season. In 10 games in Puerto Rico she scored 14.4ppg. Ariel Colon has also Puerto Rican passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
