Cooks' 42-point game gives her Player of the Week award

26-year old American power forward Sidney Cooks (193-F/C-1998) had a very impressive game in the last week for Athleticas de San German and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 15.
She had the game-high 42 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for San German in her team's victory, helping them to crush Moca (#5, 8-7) with 17-point margin 97-80. Thanks to this victory Athleticas moved-up to the 9th position in Puerto Rican BSNF. San German is bottom ranked team in the standings. They need more victories to leave last spot and improve bad 5-10 record. In the team's last game Cooks had a remarkable 73.7% from 2-point range. She turned to be Athleticas's top player in her first season with the team. Seton Hall University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Cooks is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.3ppg. Cooks is in league's top in and averages solid 51.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last week was Asia Taylor (188-F-1991) of Explosivos de Moca. She is American forward in her first season at Moca. In the last game Taylor recorded an impressive double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Moca lost that game 80-97 to the lower-ranked San German (#9, 5-10). Moca managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 8-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Taylor is a newcomer at Moca and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.4ppg (#5). She also registered 11.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Kiara Leslie (183-G-1995) of Gigantes de Carolina (#4). Leslie showcased her all-around game by recording 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the last week. She was a key player of Gigantes, leading her team to a 82-74 win against the lower-ranked San German (#9, 5-10). Carolina needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 5 lost games. Leslie has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 10.3rpg (6th best).
