Quionche Carter gets MVP of the Week award for Puerto Rican BSNF (by Hoops Agents)

American Quionche Carter (183-G/F) had an amazing evening in the last week for Pollitas de Isabela and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 1.
The swingman had the game-high 29 points adding nine rebounds and eight assists for Isabela in her team's victory, helping them to beat Yauco (#1, 2-0) 84-76. Thanks to this victory Pollitas moved-up to the 10th position in Puerto Rican BSNF. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 2 games and had no victories. In the team's last game Carter had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. She turned to be Pollitas's top player in her first season with the team. Florida Gulf Coast University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Carter is in league's top in points (6th best: 22.0ppg), rebounds (4th best: 12.0rpg), assists (9th best: 5.0apg) and averages solid 4.0spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was young American guard Essence Booker (173-G-1999) of second-ranked Ganaderas de Hatillo. Booker impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. It was enough for Hatillo to edge Monarcas (0-1) by 5 points 76-71. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Booker is a newcomer at Hatillo and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.0ppg (#1). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last week was American Samantha Fuehring (191-C-1997) of Explosivos de Moca (#3). Fuehring scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. She was a key player of Moca, leading her team to a 75-71 win against Manati (#8, 0-1). Moca has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Fuehring also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Fuehring as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.

9. Gabby Gregory (180-G) of Monarcas - 27 points and 6 rebounds
10. Anisha George (188-C-1998) of Isabela - 20 points and 5 rebounds
