Lasha Petree gets MVP of the Week award for Puerto Rican BSNF

American Lasha Petree (183-G) had a very impressive game in the last week for league's second-best Pollitas de Isabela and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 5.
The guard had the game-high 29 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Isabela in her team's victory, helping them to beat Monarcas (#6, 2-2) 84-73. Pollitas was forced-out from the top positions in Puerto Rican BSNF. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Isabela will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Petree had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. She turned to be Pollitas's top player in her first season with the team. Purdue University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Petree is in league's top in points (6th best: 18.5ppg) and averages solid 2.5spg,51.6% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was American guard Gabby Gregory (180-G, agency: Next Page Sports) of Monarcas Juana Diaz. Gregory impressed basketball fans with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Monarcas lost that game 73-84 to the higher-ranked Isabela (#2, 4-2). Despite lost game Monarcas moved up to 6th position in the standings. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But a 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Gregory is a newcomer at Monarcas and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#8). She also registered 6.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last week was American Sierra Moore (180-G-1994) of Cafetaleras de Yauco (#7). Moore showcased her all-around game by recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the last week. She was a key player of Yauco, leading her team to a 81-72 win against the lower-ranked Leonas (#10, 1-3). Moore has a great season in Puerto Rico. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.4rpg (3rd best) and assists with 5.4apg (5th best).

8. Hillary Martinez (172-SF-1997) of Moca - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Nina De Leon (168-G-2003) of Isabela - 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Alexis Jennings (190-F/C-1996) of Moca - 17 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
