Samantha Fuehring gets MVP of the Week award for Puerto Rican BSNF (by Hoops Agents)

American Samantha Fuehring (191-C-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last week for league's second-best Explosivos de Moca and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 23.
The 28-year old center had a double-double of 31 points and 14 rebounds, while her team beat Leonas (#9, 5-13) 94-82. Moca maintains the 2nd position in Puerto Rican BSNF. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Moca will need more victories to improve their 13-5 record. In the team's last game Fuehring had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. She turned to be Moca's top player in her first season with the team. University of Louisville graduate has very impressive stats this year. Fuehring is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.1ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 9.9rpg) and averages solid 42.9% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last week's games was another Moca's star - young American guard Leigha Brown (185-G-2000). Brown impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 19 points and 10 assists. Of course Explosivos de Moca cruised to a 94-82 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Leonas (#9, 5-13). Moca's second position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 13-5 record is not bad at all. Brown is a newcomer at Moca and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last week was American Kai James (196-C-1995) of Criollas de Caguas (#6). James showcased her all-around game by recording 19 points, 15 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last week. She was a key player of Caguas, leading her team to a 88-62 easy win against the lower-ranked Yauco (#10, 3-15). James has a great season in Puerto Rico. After 17 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.9rpg (2nd best).

7. Hillary Martinez (172-SF-1997) of Moca - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists
8. Ariel Colon (178-G) of Leonas - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Ashley Torres (170-G-1994) of Moca - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Amanda Paschal (172-G-1996) of Caguas - 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
