Rivera's 22 points give her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

25-year old point guard Wilneishka Rivera (163-PG-2000) had a great game in the last week for Leonas de Ponce and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for week 24.
She had the game-high 22 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Leonas in her team's victory, helping them to crush Caguas (#6, 8-10) with 20-point margin 94-74. Leonas maintains the 9th position in Puerto Rican BSNF. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 13 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Rivera had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for her as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Wilneishka Rivera averages this season 2.3ppg.

Second best performed player last week was Zaida Gonzalez (175-G-2003) of Cafetaleras de Yauco. She is international guard in her first season at Yauco. In the last game Gonzalez recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Yauco lost that game 83-94 to the higher-ranked Manati (#4, 11-7). Yauco are still at the very bottom. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Yauco managed to get this year. Gonzalez is a newcomer at Yauco and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Former Stony Brook University star Gonzalez is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to another Leonas' star - center Shelby Cheslek (196-C-1992, agency: LBM Management). Cheslek showcased her all-around game by recording 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in the last week. She was another key player of Leonas de Ponce, helping her team with a 94-74 easy win against the higher-ranked Caguas (#6, 8-10). Cheslek has individually a great season in Puerto Rico. After 18 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.7rpg (8th best) and assists with 4.4apg (9th best).
