Melisa Gretter (167-PG-93, agency: ProDep Management) sank a free throw with three seconds remaining in regulation and Argentina beat Brazil for the South American Championship title. Andrea Boquete (183-SF-90) and Macarena Rosset (178-G/F-91) nailed 13 points each for the champions. Brazil dominated in the first half. They piled up a 32:20 halftime lead. But Argentina picked up the tempo in the second half. They unleashed 45 points including a decisive late free throw from Gretter to snatch the victory. Melisa Gretter and Victoria Llorente (180-F/C-96, agency: ProDep Management) finished with 11 points each in the win. Clarissa Dos Santos (185-C-88, agency: ProDep Management) answered with 19 points and 15 rebounds for Brazil.

Colombia - Paraguay 83-78
Colombia stepped onto the podium in Tunja. The hosts rallied past Paraguay to earn Bronze medals. Colombia posted a 26:20 lead after ten minutes. They went on an 18:7 run in the third term to open a 15-point lead. Paraguay cut the deficit in the fourth term but could not avoid the loss. Narlyn Mosquera (197-F/C-89) produced 25 points, while Jenifer Munoz (170-G-91) added 20 points for the winners. Paola Ferrari (178-G/F-85, college: Union, TN, agency: ProDep Management) responded with 34 points for Paraguay.

Venezuela - Ecuador 85-60
Venezuela earned the fifth place at the championship after they stormed past Ecuador on Tuesday. Venezuela registered a 50:33 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Daniela Wallen (180-SF-95, college: Oklahoma City) stepped up with 23 points, 12 boards and 7 assists for Venezuela. Odeth Betancourt (185-F/C-00) added 13 points for the winners. Karla Yepez (175-F-96) had 14 points for Ecuador.
7-8 Place
Peru - Chile 70-80
Chile occupied the 7th overall place in Colombia. They beat Peru on the final day of the championship. Tatiana Gomez (192-C-81) delivered 20 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Chile built a 41:32 halftime lead. They controlled the tempo in the second half and raced to the victory. Catalina Abuyeres (182-F/C-97) had 17 points for Chile. Ana Farfan (165-PG-93) replied with 19 points for Peru.
