Venezuela - Ecuador 79-43
Venezuela knocked down Ecuador to gain 2-1 record in Group A. Venezuela claimed a comfortable 46-27 halftime lead. They held Ecuador to just 2 points in the fourth period to cruise to the victory. Aguehil Fajardo (183-F/C-1999) notched 22 points, while Daniela Wallen (182-SF-1995, college: Okla City) added 13 points for Venezuela. Erika Calderon (178-SF-1991) answered with 12 points for Ecuador.
Brazil - Chile 100-37
Brazil breezed past Chile to enter the semifinal undefeated. Brazil piled up a massive 55-18 halftime lead. They dropped 45 points in the second half to ease to the victory. Patty Teixeira (175-G/F-1990) delivered 18 points, while Kamilla Soares (201-C-2001) added 16 points and 13 rebounds for Brazil. Fernanda Ovalle (183-G/F-2003) hauled in 11 points for Chile.
Paraguay - Argentina 41-92
Argentina coasted past Paraguay to post the third straight victory at the championship. Argentina grabbed a 41-21 halftime lead. They sank 51 points in the second half to march to the win. Luciana Delabarba (167-PG-1997) produced 15 points, while Agostina Burani (186-F/C-1991) added 11 points for Argentina. Marta Peralta (171-SG-1994) tossed in 9 points for Paraguay.
