Debreceni Egyetem (A Division) added to their roster 31-year old Virgin Islander-U.S. Virgin Islands international forward Ivan Aska (201cm-104kg-90, college: Murray State, agency: 011 Sports) for season 2021-22. Aska played last season at Rabotnicki in North Macedonian Prva Liga. In 9 games he recorded 13.8ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.3spg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also played in the Cup final. They also advanced to the league semifinals.
The previous (19-20) season he played at Hapoel Hevel Modi'in in Israeli National League where in 22 games he averaged impressive 21.0ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.8apg and 1.9spg.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
He also represented U.S. Virgin Islands at the Panamerican Games in Lima (Peru) two years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 12.0ppg, 5.8rpg, Assists-5 (3.0apg), FGP: 46.3%, FT: 66.7%.
Aska is quite experienced player. Thanks to Aska's pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America) in eight different countries. He has played previously professionally in Belgium (Leuven Bears), France (Sluc Nancy), Germany (ALBA Berlin), Greece (PAOK Thessaloniki, Kolossos H Hotels and AE Kallitheas), Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros), Israel (Ironi Ramat Gan, Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia and Ironi Nes Ziona), South Korea (ET Land and SK Knights) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Challenge ALS).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his college team won OVC Tournament in 2010 and 2012. Aska was voted to Latinbasket.com All-CBC Championships 1st Team back in 2015.
He attended Murray State until 2012 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player.
