Dominican Republic overcame US Virgin Islands 82-62 in El Salvador at the start of the Central American and Caribbean Games. Both teams nailed 24 points each at the start, whilst Dominican Republic grabbed a 6-point lead at the halftime. Moreover, they won the third quarter 17-13 and closed the game with a final 20-10 run.
Rigoberto Mendoza (190-SG-1992, agency: BMS Sport Agency) and GUERRERO Adolfo top-scored for the winners with 17 points each, whilst SUERO Angel netted 12. Jahsean Corbett (198-G-2002) answered with 17 points in a loss and Romani Hansen (203-F-1997, college: Albany) added 14.
