Ivan Aska (ex SM Beermen) joins Al Ahli

The defending champion, Al Ahli Jeddah (SBL), has added 33-year old forward Ivan Aska to their roster. Aska, who is Puerto Rican-U.S. Virgin Islands, started the season playing for SM Beermen in the Filipino PBA league. In 8 games, he had impressive stats, averaging 24.3 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 2.1 steals per game. Last summer, he played for Soles in the Mexican league (LNBP).

He attempted to reach the NBA and participated in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.

He repped Puerto Rico at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) last year.

He has also played in the Belgian team Leuven Bears, the French team Sluc Nancy, the Greek teams PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki, Kolossos H Hotels Rodou, and AE Kallitheas, the Hungarian team Debreceni Egyetem, the Israeli teams Ramat Gan, Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia, Ironi Nes Ziona, and Hapoel Hevel Modi'in, the Mexican team, the Puerto Rican team Cangrejeros, the Uruguayan team Malvin, the North Macedonian team Rabotnicki, the South Korean teams KoGas and Knights, and the team Challenge ALS in The Basketball Tournament.
In 2023, his team reached the Uruguay LUB Semifinals, earning him several awards. He was voted to the Latinbasket.com All-Uruguay LUB Honorable Mention.

He graduated from Murray State University in 2012, and this year marks his twelfth season as a professional player.
