LUB Round 9: Derby game ends with Olimpia's defeat of Hebraica- November 8, 2019

Defensor - Aguada 104-106 A very close game took place in Montevideo (derby !!!) between Aguada and Defensor. Fifth ranked Aguada (4-1) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Defensor (2-3). Aguada managed to escape with a 2-point win 106-104 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Aguada shot the lights out from three sinking 21 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Naturalized Italian Leandro Garcia-Morales (186-80, college: Texas A&M, agency: Pro Sports) nailed 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and American power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (191-90, college: Canisius) came up with 35 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) added 14 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Defensor in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defensor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Defensor at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with three games lost. They used home court advantage to defeat Capitol (3-5) 92-83. Atenas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American guard Isaiah Lewis (190, college: California, PA, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and forward Gonzalo Meira (195-88, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Paul Harrison (204-89, college: N.Greenville) with 26 points and 5 assists and point guard Martin Trelles (187-96) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Atenas maintains twelfth place with 1-6 record. Newly promoted Capitol dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Olimpia (5-3) won against visiting Hebraica (3-4) 84-72. Olimpia made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a good game for Puerto Rican forward Johwen Villegas (194-85, college: FIU) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (205-93, college: Wisc.-Parkside) contributed with 9 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (201-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and forward Gaston Semiglia (185-91) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hebraica. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olimpia moved-up to second place. Hebraica lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost.
