The most exciting game of round 5 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Trouville (1-3) to leader Olimpia (4-0) 84-83 on Friday evening. Olimpia had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Forward Pablo Macanskas (196-90) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Abel Agarbado (179-93) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) responded with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Trouville's coach German Fernandez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olimpia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 4-0 record, which they share with Aguada. Trouville lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Defensor and Goes. Olimpia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Malvin.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#3) and Hebraica (#6). Malvin (3-1) crushed visiting Hebraica (0-4) by 19 points 99-80. American center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) nailed 29 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winning side and Juan Santiso accounted for 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Malvin's coach Pablo Lopez used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (201-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for Hebraica in the defeat. Malvin moved-up to second place, which they share with Nacional and Urunday. Hebraica at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Sayago. Malvin's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Olimpia.

Eric Dawson produced a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for the guests. Nacional have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 3-1 record behind leader Olimpia, which they share with Malvin and Urunday. Loser Defensor keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Trouville and Goes. Nacional's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Trouville.



Malvin - Hebraica 99-80

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#3) and Hebraica (#6). Malvin (3-1) crushed visiting Hebraica (0-4) by 19 points 99-80. They outrebounded Defensor 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Brazilian center Hatila Passos (211-85, college: N.Mexico St.) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. American Dominique Morrison (198-89, college: ORU) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Interperformances) produced a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists and American-Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa-Carrion (191-90, college: Canisius) added 27 points respectively for the guests.
