Verdirrojo - Lagomar 48-55 Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Lagomar (#1) and Verdirrojo (#6). Verdirrojo was defeated at home 48-55 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Lagomar forced 20 Verdirrojo turnovers. The winners were led by the former international Reque Newsome (203-81, college: S.Indiana) who scored that evening 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Martin Perdomo (178-95) supported him with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 19 points and 6 assists by point guard Diego Alvarez (180-90) did not help to save the game for Cordon. The former international forward Octavio Medina (195-96) added 15 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Miramar maintains twelfth position with 3-7 record. Cordon lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with Tabare. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of L.Borges. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sayago made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 L.Borges turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian center Zygimantas Riauka (206-93, college: UW-Parkside) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Guard German Silvarrey (173-87) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Sayago's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
