Aguada - Defensor 76-67 LUB top team - Aguada (4-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked Defensor (0-4) in Montevideo 76-67. Aguada dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Defensor's 24. The winners were led by the former international power forward Mathias Calfani (203-92) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian Marcos Mata (202-86) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by the former international point guard Marcos Cabot (180-89) did not help to save the game for Defensor. Italian-Argentinian center Damian Tintorelli (205-81) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Worth to mention a great performance of John Flowers (200-89, college: WVU) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Lee Roberts (203-87, college: Findlay, OH) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Penarol (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. Urunday at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost.
