Club Atletico Penarol Montevideo (LUB) signed experienced 34-year old American forward Todd Brown (196cm-92kg-87, college: Wright State). Brown played last summer at Columbus Condors (TBL) in the U.S. In 17 games he had very impressive stats: 17.9ppg, 7.4rpg and 3.5apg.
He is quite experienced player. Brown has played in eleven different countries on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Obras), Austria, Canada (St. John's Edge), Finland, Germany (Phoenix Hagen), Greece (Arkadikos), Holland, Mexico, Uruguay (Trouville), ABA (Cleveland P.) and The Basketball Tournament (Mid-American Unity).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the Austrian Bundesliga A Semifinals in 2012. Brown was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Finnish Korisliiga 2nd Team back in 2014.
He attended Wright State until 2010 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
Brown could be described: A player with a great resume. A vet player who has definitely been around. A rugged competitor who has been described as 'tough as nails' by opposing coaches. Has an excellent ability to score at high levels. Plays hard at both ends as seen by the fact that he has been named both all-league and all defensive selections. Can shut down opposing backcourt players if needed or raise his offensive game if needed. Sees the floor well and has spent time at all backcourt positions but is best going between the 2-3 spots. Shoots it well with good range and is quick getting up and down the floor. No weaknesses in his game. Is a great leader on the floor and almost acts as an on court coach. Great team player and a real pleasure to play alongside.
