Gabe McCray (ex Tigrillos) joins Malvin

Malvin Montevideo (LUB) agreed terms with 27-year old American guard Gabe McCray (201cm-91kg-94, college: SC State, agency: Interperformances). McCray played last summer at Tigrillos in Colombian LPB league. In 12 games he had 14.4ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg. 2021-21 was a great season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Colombian LPB Clausura 2nd Team and League Player of the Week. He also played for Ciudad in Mexican LBE where in 7 games he recorded very impressive stats: 21.1ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.4apg and 1.6spg. 2021-21 was a great season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LBE Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week.
In 2018 (two years after he left the college) he was drafted by Saint John Riptide (NBL Canada) in first round (6th overall).
McCray attended South Carolina State University until 2016 and it is his sixth season in pro basketball.
He has played previously professionally in Germany (Rasta Vechta and Vechta 2) and United Kingdom (Scorchers).
McCray played in the final of MEAC Tournament in 2016.
