Vander Blue (ex H.Afula) signs at Penarol

Club Atletico Penarol Montevideo (LUB) landed 29-year old American 196cm shooting guard Vander Blue (college: Marquette). Blue played recently at H.Afula in Israeli National League, but left the team in Jan.'22. In four games he averaged impressive 18.3ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.0spg this season.
Three years ago he was drafted by Santa Cruz Warriors (G-League) in second round (13th overall).
The former Marquette University standout is in his ninth season in pro basketball.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
Blue is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in seven different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Blue has played previously professionally in China (Guangxi), Italy (Torino), Kosovo (Ylli), Mexico (Libertadores), NBA (LA Lakers and Washington Wizards) and NBA G League (Texas Legends, South Bay Lakers, Delaware Blue Coats and Wisconsin Herd).
