Round 3 most important game was a defeat of Capitol (1-1). They were defeated by Tabare (2-1) 89-77 on Tuesday night. It was a great evening for American forward Miles Bowman Jr (198-1993, college: High Point) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Octavio Medina (195-1996) helped adding 25 points. The best for the losing side was American Akia Pruitt (203-1997, college: UNCP) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Capitol will play next round against strong U.Atletica trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo - U.Atletica. Tabare will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.

It was an exceptional evening for guard Facundo Terra (185-1998) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Lenny Daniel accounted for 18 points and 11 rebounds. Stockolmo's coach Guido Fernandez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Brazilian center Romulo Gusmao (208) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for O.Mundial in the defeat. Stockolmo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. O.Mundial's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Miramar.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: U.Atletica (#5) and 25 de Agosto (#6). U.Atletica (2-1) crushed visiting 25 de Agosto (1-2) by 19 points 93-74. The best player for the winners was Federico Ambrosoni who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Dennis McKinney who recorded 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. U.Atletica's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Capitol.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3: Lagomar lost to Miramar on the opponent's court 47-53. Verdirrojo unfortunately lost to Sayago in a home game 72-77. Cordon managed to beat Colon on the road 83-76.



Miramar - Lagomar 53-47

Miramar used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Montevideo 53-47 on Monday night. The best player for the winners was American center Chris Ware (203-1989, college: Indiana Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard JMartin Mayora (181-1995) chipped in 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward James Currington III (201-1995, college: SE Louisiana) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized American Reque Newsome (203-1981, college: S.Indiana, agency: Pro Sports) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Lagomar's coach Mauricio Rodriguez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Miramar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena O.Mundial.

There was a small surprise in Montevideo where Sayago (2-1) defeated Verdirrojo (1-1) 77-72 on Monday. They outrebounded Verdirrojo 45-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American Dante Bailey (201-1994, college: Langston) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Paul Harrison (203-1989, college: NGU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Brian Garcia (182) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Giovanni Corbisiero (180-2002) added 16 points respectively. Sayago will meet at home San Telmo RS (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
