Ferro CS - Salto Uru. 82-73

Ferro CS outrebounded Salto Uru. 44-33 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. 30 personal fouls committed by Salto Uru. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard Tomas Silveira (183-1998) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Brazilian power forward Diego Dias Silva (207-1990) helped adding 11 points and 7 rebounds. Ferro CS's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was swingman Agustin Britos (191-1997) with 21 points and 8 rebounds and Brazilian center Pedro Pecanha (206-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.

Nacional FC - Juventus 76-63

Nacional FC outrebounded Juventus 45-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Juventus were plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jeremy Ireland (200-1996, college: Elmhurst) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds. Power forward Gaston de los Santos (196-1992) accounted for 22 points and 9 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side. Ireland is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Eduardo Taure (186-1984) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Colombian forward Diego Altamiranda (201-2001) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Juventus in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
