The Second Stage in Liga Femenina just started. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin and 25 de Agosto. 25 de Agosto was defeated at home 71-80 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Malvin made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 25 de Agosto turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by 25 de Agosto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Florencia Somma (175-1988) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Argentinian Maria Jourdheuil (180-1994) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side Argentinian guard Candela Foresto (163-1999) responded with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Malvin's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Yale.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Hebraica and D.Sporting. Hebraica won against visiting D.Sporting 61-55. Forward Martina Marino (170-2005) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Romina Dalesandro accounted for 12 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Guard Joaquina Gregorio (168-2001) came up with 11 points and 8 rebounds for D.Sporting in the defeat. D.Sporting's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hebraica will play against Aguada on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. D.Sporting's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo 25 de Agosto.
Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo: Lagomar and Urunday. Urunday was crushed at home by 38 points 38-76 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Urunday. Natalia Quevedo fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Rocio Mott produced 8 points and 15 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lagomar will meet at home Remeros in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Urunday will play against Juventud and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 1 winless Remeros won against Juventud on the opponent's court 60-46. Winless Yale managed to outperform Aguada in a home game 65-61.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 7 rebounds by Camila Kirschenbaum of Aguada.
