Capitol - Atenas 88-79 There was no surprise in Montevideo where 9th ranked Atenas (5-3) were defeated by fourth ranked Capitol (5-3) 88-79 on Friday. Capitol had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jacob Ledoux (190-1997, college: UTPB) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import forward Karachi Edo (196-1994, college: Fresno St.) who added 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Edo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Capitol players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Argentinian power forward Agustin Zuvich (201-1995) with 25 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Luciano Planells (184-2001) scored 21 points and 5 assists. Atenas' coach Santiago Segovia rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Capitol have a solid four-game winning streak. They outrebounded 25 de Agosto 41-27 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Zach Naylor (203-1998, college: Tarleton St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds and guard Diego Garcia (186-1992) who added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) during the contest. Five Urunday players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Dennis McKinney (194-1998, college: Mt.Mercy, agency: GoEmpire Group) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Strangely Larranaga outrebounded Welcome 38-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was point guard Angel Varela (188-1987) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Santiago Wohlwend (172-1997) chipped in 10 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Italian Nicolas Borsellino (202-1986, agency: Pro Sports) who recorded 5 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward DJ Foreman (203-1994, college: St.Louis) added 17 points respectively.
