Dominican Rep. Center Luis Santos (203-C-1994) had a great game in the last round for Atletico Aguada Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24. The 29-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed Urupan (#9, 6-14) with 37-point margin 111-74. Aguada maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Aguada will need more victories to improve their 16-5 record. Santos turned to be Aguada's top player in his first season with the team. Former Saint Louis University star has very solid stats this year. Santos is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 10.5rpg) and averages impressive 1.3bpg and 67.6% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young American Lee Roberts (203-F/C-1987, agency: BIG) of Club Trouville Montevideo. Roberts had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Trouville lost that game 57-72 to slightly higher-ranked Cordon (#8, 9-12). Trouville is still second from the bottom in the standings. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories Trouville managed to get this year. Roberts is a newcomer at Trouville, but is already one of team's top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was Dominican Rep. forward Miguel Simon (203-F-1994, agency: BMS Sport Agency) of Urupan de Pando (#9). Simon scored 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). Despite Simon's great performance the Urupan lost 74-111 to the higher-ranked Aguada (#3, 16-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Urupan not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 14 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Simon could try to bring Urupan's a little bit higher in the standings. Simon has a very solid season. In 6 games in Uruguay he scored 17.8ppg. He also has 12.2rpg and a FGP of 56.3%.
