Donald Sims gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan LUB (Second Stage)

Experienced American Donald Sims (190-SG-1987, agency: Pensack Sports) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Atletico Aguada Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6 (Second Stage).
The 36-year old shooting guard had the game-high 45 points adding four rebounds and four assists for Aguada in his team's victory, helping them to beat Nacional (#4, 16-8) 103-89. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Aguada to consolidate first place in the Uruguayan LUB. Aguada have a solid 21-5 record. In the team's last game Sims had a remarkable eight three-pointers out of 13 attempts. He turned to be Aguada's top player in his first season with the team. Appalachian State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Sims is league's best scorer averaging so far 23.2ppg. Sims is in league's top in and averages solid 61.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Josh Cunningham (203-F-1996) of Atletico Bigua Montevideo. Cunningham impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 38 points and 17 rebounds. It was enough for Bigua to edge the bottom-ranked L.Borges (#12, 3-24) by 2 points 111-109. Despite this victory they still are the league outsider. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 13-14 record. Cunningham is a newcomer at Bigua and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.4ppg (#8). He also registered 8.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Franklin Hassell (205-C-1988) of Hebraica Macabi Montevideo (#5). Hassell showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, 18 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Hebraica, leading his team to a 103-96 win against slightly higher-ranked Defensor (#3, 17-9). Hebraica needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 15 victories and 9 lost games. Hassell has a great season in Uruguay. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (4th best). He also has 1.6bpg and a FGP of 59.7%.
