Franco Giorgetti gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan LUB (Second Stage)

Experienced Argentinian Franco Giorgetti (203-F-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for Nacional De Futbol Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12 (Second Stage).
The 31-year old forward had the game-high 24 points adding six rebounds for Nacional in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Hebraica (#5, 16-14) with 41-point margin 93-52. Nacional maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Nacional will need more victories to improve their 21-9 record. In the team's last game Giorgetti had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Nacional's top player in his first season with the team. Franco Giorgetti averages this season 14.2ppg and 7.2rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American swingman Jordan Williams (196-G/F-1992) of Hebraica Macabi Montevideo. Williams impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Hebraica lost that game 82-99 to the higher-ranked Penarol (#2, 24-8). Hebraica managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 16-14 record is not bad and everything may still change. Williams is a newcomer at Hebraica and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#7). He also registered 5.4 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Dominican Rep. Miguel Simon (203-F-1994, agency: BMS Sport Agency) of Urupan de Pando (#3). Simon scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Simon's great performance the Urupan lost 68-77 to the lower-ranked Malvin (#7, 18-14). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Urupan not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 21 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Simon could try to bring Urupan's a little bit higher in the standings. Simon has individually a great season in Uruguay. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (5th best) and rebounds with 13.1rpg (#1 in league).
